Refreshing Vodka Drinks to Enjoy During the Summer Months

The sun is beating down and you’re relaxing in the garden with your family after a long day of work. You look around the house for an alcoholic drink that will make the moment even better. You need to unwind and slip into relax mode. Most people see the vodka on the shelf and shake their heads. They think it’s a drink for the young, a simple drink to forget the world. But vodka is more versatile than you might think. We’ve compiled some refreshing vodka drinks to consider in the summer months this year.

  • Strawberry Lemonade Vodka Slushies

A slushie on a hot day? Count us in. Let your inner child out and drink that slushie (you’ll also stay cool on a warm day!). This delightful concoction marries the lusciousness of strawberries, the zing of lemonade, and, of course, the spirited punch of vodka. Simply blend these ingredients, along with ice, until you’ve achieved the perfect slushy consistency. Cheers to a refreshing and spirited creation. You’ve probably got images of trying to drink this one so make sure you have some straws to hand. The experience is a little less luxurious when you tip the glass and the whole slush falls down on your face.

  • Pineapple Basil Vodka Cocktail

We’re now moving into the realm of exotic. The delightful union of sweet pineapple and fragrant basil is like a celestial duet that will make your taste buds sing. Simply mix some pineapple juice, vodka and muddled basil leaves together with ice. Garnish with a fresh pineapple wedge or a sprig of basil for an extra touch. You wanted refreshing and this is exactly it. There aren’t too many better drinks to have by your side as you watch the world go by.

  • Cucumber Mint Vodka Cooler

We want to keep the suggestions light in this guide and this leads us to a cucumber mint vodka cooler. Mint and cucumber are the kings of refreshing and it only gets better when you add a splash of vodka. Muddle some cucumber slices and mint leaves in a glass, add ice and vodka, then top off with soda water. You could even cut a couple of extra slices of cucumber for your eyes and pretend you’re at the spa (it might work, until the kids come shouting!).

  • Watermelon Vodka Spritzer

Ask 10 people what they find refreshing and it won’t be long before watermelon comes out of their mouths. Mix vodka with watermelon chunks, strain away the seeds, and toast to a melon-icious concoction. Fill a glass with ice, add the watermelon-vodka mixture and top off with club soda for some bubbles. Try Belvedere vodka with a spritzer, for example. This drink is perfect for hot days and it’s also great for the beach or a backyard BBQ. Just remember  that the drink does contain vodka because it’s easy to drink it like a fruit juice. Suddenly, you’re due into work again but have a foggy head.
